Term 4 Week 3

Thank you to everyone who attended the Junior School Mass yesterday. Your behaviour was amazing, and Paige, Christian, and Ethan read beautifully. I am proud of you all.

This week Maia received a certificate at Assembly.

Our Mathletics Stars are: Danny (who was absent today), Liam, and Trinity. Our efforts saw Room 13 finish the week at number 41 on the NZ Top 50 Classes list. Well done everyone.




Notes:
*Counting down to the School Fair. Please return your (sold) raffle tickets; sign up to help the Room 13 stall - Coin Toss and Mystery Bottle; return your (children and parents) busking form; and donate goods.
*Mufti Day - Friday 2 November. Bring a gold coin for the fair.
*This week we are focusing on our production and will be practising every day. For homework children will have a browsing box book to read, spelling to learn, and at least one set of Mathletics exercises to complete. Thank you for your continued support with homework - it is important to establish a good routine early.

Term 4 Week 2 'Star of the Week'


This week's Star of the Week is Isla.

Christian and Luke received certificates to recognise their hard work at reading. Ka pai Christian and Luke.




Tomorrow George is turning 8. We sang 'Happy Birthday' to George this morning. We hope you enjoy being 8.







Remember Sunday Mass - please meet outside Room 12 at 8:45am, in full school uniform.

Touch Rugby

Last night two Room 13 people were nominated 'Player of the Day' for their respective Touch Rugby teams. Congratulations to: Harrison and Elliott.
Well done to everyone else, you all played very well and put in your best effort.

Term 4 Week 2

Last week's Mathletics Stars are: Paige, Denver, and Danny. Danny is also the first person to receive the third Silver certificate and Isla gained her first Silver certificate. Ka pai. We are currently at 41 on the Top 50 NZ Class list!


Yesterday Trinity turned 7. We sang 'Happy Birthday' to her. We hope you enjoy being 7, Trinity.

*The Junior Syndicate Mass is on Sunday 28 October. Please be outside Room 12 by 8:45am, in full school uniform, on Sunday morning.

Term 4 Week 1 'Star of the Week'

This week's Star of the Week is Macy.

Today we practiced the songs for the production. The children sound amazing already. They each have a copy of the songs to help them learn the words. This can be part of their reading.

Congratulations

Tonight was a special night for Isla as she made her Brownie Promise and was enrolled. Welcome to Brownies, Isla, I know you will have lots of fun!




Touch Rugby

The 2012 Touch Rugby season started on Tuesday evening. Fourteen Room 13 children are playing in five different teams. The first games produced mixed results, but everyone tried their best and enjoyed their game. Check out our touch stars:

Term 4 Week 1

Welcome to Term 4 - the last term for 2012. It was great to see everyone this morning and to hear how the holidays went. We are going to be very busy with production practices and then swimming, Christ the King day, and Student Led Conferences.


Two boys had birthdays during the holidays. This morning we sang Happy Birthday to Alex (8) and Danny (7). We hope you enjoy the next year of your life.








We also welcomed Isaac and his family to our room. We are pleased he has joined us and know he will enjoy being in Room 13.






At this morning's assembly Harrison and Isaac received certificates.
Ka pai, boys, we are proud of you.




Our Mathletics Stars are: Harrison, Christian, and Danny. A special CONGRATULATIONS to Harrison who was second on the NZ Top 100 Students list and 18th on the World Top 100 Students list.

Mathletics

I have just checked the Mathletics website and am really excited to see that Harrison is at number 4 and Danny at number 18 on the NZ Top 100 Students list. Congratulations! Their efforts, along with others' efforts, sees us currently at number 3 on the NZ Top 50 Classes list. Ka pai Ruma 13!

Holidays

Hello Ruma 13 Whanau - I trust your holidays are going well.
I am really excited to see that a number of you have been on Mathletics. Together our class was 17th on the Top 50 NZ Schools' list for last week - ka pai! Congratulations also to Christian, Danny, and Harrison who were our Mathletics Stars. At the moment were are 19th on the Top 50 NZ Schools' list for this week - keep up your good work.
