Anita, from Athletics Canterbury, taught us how to throw a discus and put a shot. In our warm up game we had to try and throw all the items onto the opposition's side. This was a fun activity, with one team being declared the outright winners.
The next thing we did was to practice throwing a quoit. This helped us prepare for discus throwing. We finished with the shot put.
Once again this was an enjoyable session with all children showing new learning.
Today our Year 3 leaders were announced. Hannah from Room 4 and Harrison from Room 13 will be the Junior School leaders for Terms 1 and 2. Congratulations, Hannah and Harrison, you will be superb role models for us.
This afternoon Ian, the council Animal Control Officer, spoke to us about keeping safe around dogs. He told us what to do if a dog comes up to us on the street and he showed us how to safely pat a dog. This is Alexandra patting Dharma.
To finish this post here's two of our stories:
On Sunday our family chopped down some trees and bushes. We borrowed a trailer from my Dad's friend, Abe. It took us all day. I climbed in the trailer and squashed everything down. Then we went to the dump. It was very smelly. By KateIn the weekend I am going to Christian's, with my brother, for a sleepover. I will have fun. I will play on the trampoline. I will go in a car. Sheena will probably pick me up. I will play soccer too. I might go to the park. By Luke
