Swimming Stories

Today we wrote stories about our swimming lessons at Wharenui Pool. Here are a few:

At 9 in the morning we went swimming at Wharenui. My Mum came and watched me. We did dolphin dives and sardines. We did kicking on our back and big arms. We went on a bus. I forgot what my teacher's name was. We had to go under water for a long time. My Dad is coming one day next week. Ben

After the roll we go to Wharenui Pool to do swimming. We do dolphin dives and wiggle dives. We buddy up with Room 3. We go on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday my Mum and Grandad and Nana came. My favourite part was the dolphin dives. My Room 3 buddy's name is Lauchlan. Christian

At 9 o'clock we hop into the bus to Wharenui Pool. We get into our togs and get into our pool. My instructor is called James. We swim for half an hour. After our swimming lesson we get into our school uniform. We get on the bus and go back to school and have morning tea. Isla

Macy and I sat on the mat and we said, "Ata marie, Alex." Then we got ready to go and line up. We walked to the bus. Then we had to go inside and go to the seats and get our clothes off. I waited to get my bathing cap on. Then we went into the pool. I did a big starfish in front of Mrs Kundycki-Carrell. Ciara

At my school for the last few days Room 3 and my classroom have been going to Wharenui Pool for swimming lessons. I have a buddy like everybody else. I only have six more swimming lessons so I have to make the most of it. This is my second year swimming with my school and it feels good. We have to go on a bus to get there. Normally we do clapping games but this year we just wait quietly. At swimming we have to take off our uniform and we have to put on our swimming gear. After that my teacher, Mrs Kundycki-Carrell, says, "Room 13 people please stand up." She normally tests us to see which swimming group we are in. I am in the second swimming group. Denver

I was lucky enough to come along this week and see all you guys swimming really well. I was also really impressed how you all got out and dressed so quickly without fuss.
An older man made comment to me in the changing room how well behaved the CTK boys were. He must swim there quite often and he said CTK are noticably more organised compared with other schools. WELL DONE
    from James (Ethans Dad).
