Reading Groups' Work

The Pukeko Reading Group read a poem: Sandy Song. Then they wrote their own Sandy Songs. Here they are:

I see the sea banging on my feet

I feel the sand going between my toes

I hear birds flying in the breeze

I taste salt blowing in my mouth

I smell fish in the sea swimming around

I feel sand between my toes and salt all over me

I hear the ocean crashing and laughter and wind

I taste sand and ice-cream and salty water

I smell salt and sand and sea

I hear seagulls chirping

I taste salty water, ice-cream and sand in my mouth

I smell salty water, the sand and some trees
